In 1974, a Chinese peasant dug up an entire army of terracotta warriors in his field.
"Terracotta Army" is the accepted name for the burial of at least 8,100 full-sized terracotta statues of Chinese warriors and their horses at the mausoleum of Emperor Qin Shi Huang in Xi'an. Terracotta statues were buried together with the first emperor of the Qin dynasty - Shi Huang-di (united China and connected all the links of the Great Wall) in 210-209 BC. e.
