* House without windows and people
2008 France / Lyon
Two thousand years of French history are located on the facade of the unusual house La Fresque Des Lyonnais in Lyon. The frescoes, created in the mid-90s of the last century, depict the daily life of a small provincial town. The drawings are so realistic that from a distance they seem like a continuation of the street turmoil; here are shopkeepers welcoming customers, and chatting cafe visitors, and painters updating the facade of the building, and passing by an old woman.
But the main characters of urban wall painting are placed on balconies, which, like the windows and doors of a house, are also painted. Here you can see the outstanding French who left their mark on the history of the country, and even the heroes of cult works. Among them are the Lumiere brothers, Antoine de Saint-Exupery and his Little Prince, Emperor Claudius, Abbé Pierre, chef and restaurateur Paul Bocuse and many others. In total, 24 historical figures and six of our contemporaries are depicted on the facade with a total area of 800 square meters.
